Put Some South in Your Mouth! In 1953, Bill Black and his son, Jack, opened the first Old Hickory House Restaurant at 1527 Northside Drive in Atlanta. They had no idea what he was starting! FIFTY years and MILLIONS OF POUNDS of Bar B Q later, we know that was the beginning of a great Atlanta Tradition. Continuing family members have been putting "Some South in the Mouth" of our customers for four generations. The Bar B Q Sauce and the Brunswick Stew are old family recipes. How good are they? Well, folks have eaten over 3 million gallons of Brunswick Stew since we started selling it and over 10 million gallons of Bar B Q Sauce have been "sopped up & sucked down". Folks who have the misfortune to move away from Atlanta call us all the time to get their "Qand Stew" shipped to them. Old Hickory House is also famous for their delicious homemade southern breakfasts! We cater too!
